We are now preparing to launch this peer support group for people with anxiety, PTSD and CPTSD. To bring what was imparted to us, by various professional healthcare providers, to Charlottetown. So that it’s easier for trauma survivors to access resources than ever before.

Colossians 3:23-24: “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for Women's, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.” This encourages working diligently and with integrity, knowing that your ultimate reward comes from God.

Sui Cura (/swi ˈkuːra/): SWEE KOO-rah
Translation: "Self-care" in Latin.

  • Origin: "Sui" (of oneself) + "Cura" (care, attention).
  • Meaning: Refers to taking personal responsibility for one's well-being; self-care.

Example:
"Our anxiety peer support group, Sui Cura, emphasizes the importance of taking responsibility for one's own wellbeing."

This peer support group is a nonreligious, non-judgmental gathering for individuals.

  1. The group gatherings have a broad focus. While they may include study as one component,  their primary focus is on building community and fostering personal growth through discussion, support, and fellowship. These groups often meet at UPEI, Holland College or in members' homes.
  2. Gatherings are often less formal and more flexible in structure. They may include elements of reading or study, but they also provide a platform for members to share their life experiences, challenges, and joys. The atmosphere is usually more casual and conducive to open conversation.
  3.  The group have broader goals, including building a sense of community among members. It’s still all about personal growth and practising one's coping skills, which one's therapist has already taught one. Maybe your therapist already taught you DBT, CBT or other skills that you now need to practice. We practice here and much more... They often focus on supporting one another in their personal journeys, addressing practical life issues, and providing a safe space for discussion and practice.
  4. Meeting Location: Groups typically meet in members' homes. This setting offers a more relaxed and informal atmosphere for fellowship and discussion.

Proverbs 16:3: “Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” This verse highlights the importance of dedicating your business efforts to God and trusting Him to guide your success.

In summary, while gatherings serve as opportunities for personal growth and connecting with like-minded individuals, Individuals may choose to participate in one or more types of group activities based on their specific preferences and needs.
