Usually, we hire people we know, such as volunteers, or promote from within, because we trust them and have seen the quality of work they do.

Role Title: College & Career Pastor
Location: Charlottetown, PEI
Time Commitment:
- Hours: Suggest 3-6 hours per week, or 12-24 hours per month – adjust based on your needs and what's realistic for a volunteer.
- Schedule: Flexible hours, days/times to be mutually agreed upon.
- Duration: Minimum 6-month commitment requested, with an opportunity for ongoing involvement.

Therefore, the Charlottetown Community Church is seeking a steadfast, patient, and deeply relational leader to serve as the College & Career Pastor, to minister to emerging adults (ages 18–25). This role is foundational to our mission of equipping beginners with the spiritual and practical tools necessary for life.
The ideal candidate will embody the qualities of a Steady mentor, prioritizing consistency, personal connection, and stability, and be deeply aligned with our values of community service.
Key Responsibilities
- Relational Mentorship and Discipleship: As a dependable spiritual and emotional anchor for young adults. Your primary focus is on deep, one-on-one discipleship, through active, non-judgmental listening and modelling consistent faith. You will gently guide young adults through the complex transitions of career entry, college life, and interdependence.
- Sustaining Community: Establish and maintain stable, long-term small group structures where young adults feel known, valued, and safe. Your success will be measured by the quality and longevity of the relationships you facilitate, ensuring the ministry is built on peer-to-peer loyalty and mutual support.
- Project Support and Integration: Provide calm and reliable support to young adults engaged in our church's practical educational mission, and community outreach projects. You will serve as a low-drama coach, providing the stable resource and encouragement necessary for volunteers to follow through on their commitments and achieve project goals.
- Modelling Consistency: Through your own conduct, you will demonstrate the patient perseverance and ethical integrity required to build lasting financial resilience and spiritual strength.
Qualifications
No experience needed, will train.
Optional:
- Experience in either communication, administrative or office support, ideally in a nonprofit or community-based setting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace.
- Experience handling confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to focus, prioritize, and work interdependently in a community environment.
- Understanding of and alignment with the mission and values of nonprofit, community-oriented work.
- Bilingualism (English/Spanish, or Asian Languages) is considered an asset.
- A valid driver's license and access to transportation are considered optional assets.
Working Conditions
- Monday to Friday, 8:30 am–4:30 pm, with occasional evenings or weekends for special events.
- Flexitime available.
- Hybrid work arrangements may be considered.
- This role may involve light lifting (event materials, supplies) and front-desk responsibilities.
