A missionary’s assistant is someone who helps a missionary in his/her work of spreading the gospel and serving the people in their assigned area. A missionary’s assistant may have different roles and responsibilities depending on the
type and location of the missionary work, but some common tasks are:
- Providing administrative and logistical support to the missionary, such as scheduling appointments, arranging travel, managing finances, and communicating with donors and partners.
- Assisting the missionary in teaching and preaching the gospel, such as preparing lessons, translating materials, leading discussions, and following up with contacts.
- Supporting the missionary in community development and humanitarian projects, such as organizing events, distributing resources, facilitating training, and monitoring progress.
- Participating in the missionary’s personal and spiritual growth, such as praying, studying, and worshipping together, as well as providing feedback, encouragement, and accountability.
A missionary’s assistant may also have other duties depending on the specific needs and goals of the missionary and the organization they work for. A missionary’s assistant may serve for a short-term or a long-term period, depending on their availability and commitment. A missionary’s assistant may also receive training and mentoring from the missionary or the organization to help them develop their skills and abilities.

On-the-Job Training: After graduation, you could stay on to teach the next generation. In the process, you learn even more. If you want to learn something well, you should teach it because that keeps you accountable for knowing it better than your students.
