Street Samaritans
You don't need me to tell you that shelters and many other excellent programs, or nonprofits like Harvest House, have long waiting lists... Therefore, Street Samaritans need Good Samaritans like you!
Street Samaritan is only for a specific Sober Homeless Niche... This is NOT for ALL Homeless People...
This is not a shelter.
This is not a rehab.
This is Only For Sober People. Did I say "sober"?
With that in mind, imagine walking on the street and seeing a person huddled in a corner, shivering from the cold. You might think they are just another homeless person, addicted to drugs or alcohol, or maybe just lazy and unwilling to work. But what if I told you that some of these people are innocent, sober, and suffering from disabilities that make it hard for them to function in society?
Some of them have Autism, Asperger’s, or other conditions that affect their social skills, communication, and behaviour. They may have been bullied, rejected, or misunderstood by others, and ended up isolated and alone.
Some of them have been targets of domestic abuse, where a high-conflict partner lied under oath to get court orders that took away their rights, their children, and their belongings. They may have been falsely accused of violence, harassment, or neglect, and had no chance to defend themselves. They may have lost their jobs, homes, and dignity and had nowhere to go.
These are the people that we care about. These are the people who need our help. These are the people who need Jesus' hands and feet. We provide them with food, clothing, shelter, and, most importantly, hope. We help them heal from their trauma, find their purpose, and reconnect with God and others. We give them a chance to start over, to rebuild their lives, and to experience joy again.
But we cannot do this alone. We need your support. We need your partnership. By making a small monthly donation, you can make a big difference in someone’s life. You can be a good Samaritan, a good neighbour, a friend to the friendless. You can be the hands and feet of Jesus in this dark world.
There are also other ways you can help, such as offering couch surfing, cooking, or volunteering. Together, we can show God’s love to the least of these. Together, we can change the world.
